She Started It – inspiring documentary about women in business

Female founders, women in business, women in IT, Tech, VC it’s all now a common topic in media and in a daily life discussions within women as well as men. In fact, as a woman, it’s extremely inspiring for me to watch successful female founders hitting the world of business. ‘She started it’ is a story of 5 young women that will stop at nothing to pursue their startup dreams. Launched in 2013, the film is a documentary film on women tech entrepreneurs, shot on location in Silicon Valley, NYC, Europe, Vietnam, Mississippi & more, that aims to highlight successful role models for young women. It is the first film to show the behind the scenes of running a tech start-up as a young woman.

We all need role models and that’s awesome that we share the examples of exceptional success stories.

It’s not about being better, either man or woman, we are different but we all have the same possibilities and opportunities to take initiative and achieve what seems to be not-reachable. We have the same tools, a bit different way of thinking, but we can learn the same things, be present in the same level of companies’ hierarchy and set up extremely successful businesses in any field. I’m happy seeing so many new initiatives, associations that support and encourage women to go for it, go for the future they want to create and live in. There will be a lot of good coming from this attempts, there will be more and more success stories heard around in our local environment and I truly believe that this is the trigger for young generation. Being surrounded by female founders, it will become more and more natural to just set up your own company, create new value on the market and just live your passion.

I recommend to check See Jane Invest episode 20 in which Jane interviews the founder of the movie:
EPISODE: 20 See Jane produce a film with NORA POGGI & INSIYAH SAEED.

She started it is a great example of women that just simply started it, started their own thing and inspired others. I warmly recommend to watch the movie and get some wisdom out of it. Open your mind, believe in yourself and do not regret that you did not try to live the life you wanted!
